🌱 Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to help you understand what support is available, how it works, and where you might fit.
What support do you offer?
Support is available across three areas, depending on where you are right now:
• Accessible Advocacy (navigating systems and services)
• Sorted + Supported (stabilising life and work capacity)
• Mischemix Academy (creative confidence and expression)
All support is person-centred, capacity-aware, and grounded in real-life needs.
What is advocacy support?
Advocacy support helps when systems, services, or decisions feel difficult to navigate on your own.
This includes:
• understanding options
• preparing for conversations or assessments
• organising information
• staying engaged with support
The focus is clarity, stability, and practical next steps.
Do you offer coaching?
Support may include coaching-style elements where helpful.
However, this is not traditional coaching or purely reflective work.
The focus is practical, real-world support — helping you stabilise what you’re carrying and move forward in a way that holds.
Who do you support?
You don’t need to fit a category — just recognise yourself somewhere in this.
Support is for adults who may feel:
• overwhelmed or stuck
• burnt out or at capacity
• navigating life or work transitions
• struggling to stay engaged with services
• neurodivergent (diagnosed or self-identified)
You do not need a diagnosis to access support.
Is this therapy or counselling?
No.
This is not therapy or clinical treatment.
Support is practical, structured, and forward-focused.
Are you a crisis service?
No.
This is not an emergency or crisis service.
If you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services.
This work is preventative — helping stabilise situations before they reach crisis point.
⚙️ About Access to Work
What is Access to Work?
Access to Work is a UK government scheme that can provide funding if a health condition or disability affects how you work.
It is available to both employees and self-employed individuals.
Can you help with Access to Work?
Yes.
Support is available before, during, and after the process — helping you understand what you need and make it work in real life.
Do I need a diagnosis to apply?
No.
What matters is how your condition affects your ability to work.
What if I don’t know what support I need?
That’s very common.
Part of this work is helping you clarify what would actually help — and how to make that clear to others.
🌼 For Professionals & Referrers
Can I refer someone?
Yes — with their consent.
Support is always person-led and voluntary.
Will you report back to referrers?
Only with clear consent from the individual.
This is not a case-holding or reporting service.
Do you replace existing services?
No.
This work sits alongside services — helping improve engagement, communication, and follow-through.
🌼 Organisations & Consultancy
Do you work with organisations?
Yes.
Support is available for organisations looking to build more accessible, capacity-aware environments.
This may include:
• training and workshops
• communication and accessibility guidance
• lived-experience insight
• practical implementation support
💛 Practical Questions
How long does support last?
Support is purpose-led and time-aware.
We work alongside you for as long as it is genuinely helpful, with a focus on building clarity, confidence, and sustainable independence.
Do you work with families?
The primary focus is the adult individual.
Family may be included where the individual wishes and consents.
Do you support self-identified neurodivergence?
Yes.
A formal diagnosis is not required.
What if I don’t know what I need yet?
That’s okay.
You don’t need to have everything figured out — we can work that out together.
💷 Fees & Access
How much does support cost?
Costs depend on the type of support and how it is funded (e.g. Access to Work, self-funded, or commissioned).
Fees are always discussed clearly before any work begins.
Can I self-fund support?
Yes.
Some people choose to self-fund.
This is agreed clearly in advance so expectations feel manageable and transparent.
Do you offer funded or supported places?
Sometimes.
Availability depends on funding and partnerships.
What if I’m worried about affordability?
You’re welcome to ask.
We’ll be honest about what’s possible and, where appropriate, suggest alternative options.
🌱 Still unsure?
